Imagine Cup 2009 Egypt is upon us; I would like to invite you to a quick overview session I will be holding.

This challenge is open to everyone, undergraduate and graduate students.

What is Imagine Cup?

Imagine Cup is a worldwide competition held by Microsoft to give students a simple way to exercise the skills they have acquired through school. Every year, the competition is given a new theme for new set of problem to be tackled.

Wondering where else your degree can take you? Are you eager to gain valuable networks with other inspired individuals, or are you just interested in learning more about business?

If any of these questions appeal to you, then ticket sales to an exciting event for you have just opened! The Enterprize Entrepreneurship conference takes place in the Hyatt Regency Hotel from February 6-8th 2009. It is a 3 day conference in downtown Vancouver with 2 keynote presentations, 20 speaker seminars, an entrepreneurship expo, innovation challenges, business plan finalist presentations, 2 night events, a gala dinner and amazing networking opportunity with 450 delegates, business professionals and entrepreneurs from across Canada.

Enterprize is also hosting a National Business Plan Competition. With an unparalleled prize pool worth over $100,000, the 2009 competition will showcase some of the best and brightest business plans from across Canada. Transform your ideas into reality as you compete against over 100 teams for a chance at cash prizes, mentorship opportunities, or even an opportunity to audition in front of a panel of venture capitalist investors on CBC's Dragons' Den! The competition is opened to undergraduate and graduate students. Business plan's are due November 30. There are regional competitions culminating in the national competition that will take place in Vancouver in February 2009."

iBU is the largest student-run non-profit bookstore that dedicates to lead a fair secondhand textbook market in UBC.

We are young, energetic and have a dream to break UBC bookstore's monopoly power and give students a fair secondhand textbook market. We are currently operating in a thousand textbooks every semester with a revenue of more than 10 thousand dollars.

Currently, we are looking for a volunteer position of IT manager who has strong web-building skills and can quickly adapt new team.

Some the most important tasks of IT manager will be to build a on-line communication platform (website). and help iBU to update its operation system.

The time commitment of this volunteer position is about 2–3 hrs/week.

Everyone who is interested in this volunteer opporunity is welcome!

From November 10 to 28, the Computer Science Student Society will be
collecting donations of nonperishable food and money for the Greater
Vancouver Food Bank. We will be accepting donations in our lounge (ICICS
X139). Please bring out a can or two of soup or a few dollars and help
set a great goal for next year's class to beat while helping out those
in need!

Join Professor Fahiem Bacchus, Associate Chair for Graduate Studies and member of the Artificial Intelligence research group in the University of Toronto's Department of Computer Science, as he gives insight into studying at the graduate level—what can be expected, what does UofT offer, is it right for you? Pizza and pop will be served.

All undergraduate students are welcome; registration is not required.
