T-shirt Logo Design Contest

Show us your artistic skills and design an original logo for our CSSS (the Cube) clothing!

The logo should be significantly wider than it is high (to go across the chest of the shirts), and should be at least 600 pixels wide and at least 400 pixels high to ensure good quality printing (though you're encouraged to submit larger images or vector formats).

The winner will get their choice of either one t-shirt plus one hoodie free or three t-shirts free and the winning logo will be featured on our t-shirts for this year!

Colour restrictions: None, however keep in mind that we will be grey scaling your logo for our t-shirts. So make sure it looks good grey scaled as well!
Deadline: November 7, 2008
Winner announced on or before: November 14

To submit your logo, send it to csss@thecube.ca, with "Logo Contest" as the subject.

As a member of the Department's Techical Staff, Mr. Demco was instrumental in establishing both the 'dot-ca' domain name for Canada, and the Canadian Internet Registration Authority.

Hello there!

Welcome to the Computer Science Student Society (CSSS)! You will be happy to know that if you are a student in the CPSC Department, you are automatically part of the CS Cube!

The CSSS has been busy planning events and doing its best to make a great year for you. Expect biweekly BBQs (weather permitting), IceCubed skating events, Beach Days, the Career Fair, Industry Panels and Info Sessions, volunteer opportunities within the Computer Science Department, Bzzr Gardens, the year-end boat cruise, and much more! Our first event is a T-shirt design contest! More details will be out soon, so be sure to look out for more updates on this site!

As privileged members of the CSSS, please feel free to drop by the Cube lounge, x139, to buy cheap snacks or pop, play with the XBOX 360 or just chillax with your friends and meet other cool Cubers just like you.

Here's your chance to find out. In partnership with Launch Party Vancouver 4 (LPV4), Techvibes is hosting a Start-Up Career Fair dedicated to the unique opportunities available at technology Start-Ups in Vancouver. The event will merge the 'unconference' format of DemoCamp with a traditional Career Fair. Representatives from Strutta, Carrie & Danielle,
Lypp, Tagga, Live Current, MovieSet, Vibrant Software, 6S Marketing, FCV, and GO Recruitment will be pitching you on why you should work for them and highlighting some of the cool opportunities at their Start-Ups.

Electronic Arts feedback/focus groups

Electronic Arts Canada is looking for local gamers/non-gamers of all ages to participate in our focus groups.

If chosen, you will be invited into our studio located in Burnaby to play games like: Need for Speed, Skate, Spore, NHL, FIFA, NBA Live, Fight Night, Facebreaker, and many other EA titles. Get the chance to provide feedback directly to the designers! No game design knowledge is required – just tell us what you think will make the game more fun!

For attending a focus group, you will be given a free game of choice. Pizza and drinks are also served during our sessions.
